We Have Science Policy Fellowships for PhD Scientists and Engineers!
If attending #GCAS2018 is leaving you excited about bringing science to policy solutions, please tell a colleague or student about the CCST Science & Technology Policy Fellowship, and tell them to follow @CCSTFellows on Twitter!
The CCST Science Fellows Program trains scientific thinkers to be policy-savvy, while helping equip California’s lawmakers with science-savvy staff. We recruit and train PhD scientists and engineers from institutions across the United States (and beyond) to work as legislative analysts for one year in the California State Senate and California State Assembly.
It's an amazing opportunity to learn the nuances and process of lawmaking first-hand, and help California state leaders analyze and decide on complex policy questions across a variety of issue areas, not just science and technology. In fact, more than 50% of our alumni go on to work in the California State Legislature or California state agencies, while other return to academia, industry, or nonprofit sectors with a deeper understanding on how to help science inform policy.
Our next fellowship application period begins 01 December 2018! Follow @CCSTFellows for updates and to read blogposts from our fellows, and help us make California's policies stronger with science!
