The Golden Gate Restaurant Association, Zero Foodprint and 3 Degrees Inc. are working with many of San Francisco's best restaurants to be carbon neutral for the entire week of the summit 9/10 -9/16. The list of participating restaurants is at www.zerofoodprint.org/diningweekreserve.

For those interested in systems change, the broader goal is to link food and climate change in people's minds and to establish the category of carbon neutral dining as a circular economy that funds healthy soil as a climate solution, much like residential funding of renewable energy goes towards improving the grid. Offset funding is going towards a) carbon ranching in Marin and b) a methane digester project in Michigan. If successful, the organizers will replicate the model for restaurant week in participating cities.
